Re: Fw: [FlaxSeedOil2] Ground flaxseed, other seeds

Hello,
One question I have. Since I am using flaxseed oil and flaxseed ground to
keep my health, would adding other seeds like walnut or sunflower with the
flaxseed oil be a good idea?
I have been doing that lately, using different ones always with the oil and
the ground flaxseed because it is more filling. I always believed that
feeding ourselves properly should be a priority. We see in here that it is
one. I have not been following everything that Dr. Budwig says, but I am
slowly working towards the diet. I have started by using more olive oil on
my whole bread. Checking to see if my system will accept it. Soon, more
veggies, raw. Getting older is reminding me that taking care of my health is
one thing I have to do on my own.
Thanks for answering,
Diane

    Hi Diane,
some nuts are fine with that, especially walnuts as they contain are
a good source of LNA (omega-3).
    One suggestion though:
Take the ones that you crack open yourself.
Those that you buy out of the shell are almost always rancid.

    Diane,
    one follow-up note:
I assume and hope that you are referring to fo/cc when you say
    flaxseed oil.

    Wilhem,
Yes I used the Cottage Cheese and Flaxseed oil every morning and sometimes
nights when alone. I enjoy cottage cheese and this way with the blender it
is so good. The ground flaxseed gives it a nutty taste that I enjoy with
the banana. Plus the banana being sweet, there is not need for sugar. I
used maple syrup to sweeten it when I put strawberry with the banana for a
    change.
I am glad to know about the walnut as I used to eat a lot with salad a while
ago. Time to get back to it then. It is hard to keep eating healty and to
have a variety of food. I will have to get new recipes. That is why I say
slowly getting to follow Dr. Budwigs diet. I see the difference in me. I am
much better overall and hopefully nothing bad will come.
    Thank you.

    Wouldn't rancid nuts tastes bad?<
    Alobar,
many people have come to accept the taste of rancid nutmeat as
    normal.
A friend had walnut chunks in her muffin.
My wife, after tasting, said the walnuts are rancid.
Our friend said, no - that is the way they always taste.
    You see what I mean...
    Think about it -
walnuts have about 5% of LNA (omega-3) in them.
How long after they are broken into pieces do you think it will take
    before oxidation sets in?
Flaxseeds begin turning rancid 10 to 15 minutes after grinding unless
    they are honey coated.
How long do you think the walnuts have been broken into pieces before
you buy them... and by the time you eat them?
For your own sake make this test:
In the fall when the new crop of fresh whole walnuts are sold for
    Christmas.
Try some. Then right after try the stored chunks.
You will notice the difference then.

    Hi all,
I know you might not have the answer but does anyone know any herbs
or anything that will help with moving the lymph fluid around. My mum
has a tumor that is pressing against a lymph node and therefore
blocking the node and the fluid can;t get through. We uped the cc/fo
combination the other day and we are now waiting for soem results she
is very frustrated as her leg is severely swollen.
Can anyone suggest anything natural to do. We are desperate.

    Hi Diane
You touched on an extremely important aspect of Omega fats. Its been said many
times on here and could probably stand repeating that it's very important to
attain the proper balance of Omega-3 to Omega-6 fats.
Walnuts have been discussed on here as another source of LNA (Omega-3) but its
important to note that as much as 30 percent of it is Omega-6 (which we must
working on reducing). Probably the single most difficult thing for most folks to
do is to try and reduce the use of Omega-6. Without a significant reduction in
that "Bad Fat" you will be hard pressed to get any real benefit from any of
these wonderful essential fatty acids. One of my great fears is that people will
discover just how difficult it can be and give up on it entirely. Most people
need to reduce the amount of Omega-6 consumed by 75 percent - thats a big
    number.
Replacing saturated fat cooking oils with extra virgin olive oil and coconut
oils are good solid starts, but I believe it takes more then that. Using the KIM
Software from the National Institute of Health will help to bring this
complicated issue into focus. Omega-6 fats are everywhere and we must be aware
of it and work to reduce it. Dieititian Jane is looking at making Omega-6
dietary analysis available to help people to Balance the Omega's in their diets.
Unfortunately it can not be a free service because of the time and effort to
analize meal plans and etc. But, if there are folks from here who feel like
they could benefit from such a thing, email me privately and perhaps we could
    work something out.

    Aobar,
boy oh boy, what a mess this is getting into.
    About walnuts,
you are asking me to provide URLs when I am talking from my
    experience...
If your experience is different...ok then, go on and enjoy your
    walnut pieces.
    It doesn't matter to me.
    About ground flaxseeds,
again my experience, but if you dont believe me
perhaps you believe this quote by Dr.Budwig from
'Flax Oil as a true Aid against Arthritis,
Heart Infarction, Cancer and other Diseases' (p.22).
"When flax seed is rough-ground....(it) will spoil rapidly - within
    10-15 minutes."
I don't want to argue about this.
    Let's drop it.

    Mike,
as I indicated to Alobar, my simple reply to Diane has caused
much more controversy than I had thought. I did not expect any.
When I replied to Diane I said:
"some nuts are fine with that, especially walnuts..."
The word "some" was meant to suggest a limited quantity.
Perhaps I was not too clear on that.
    The part where I said:
"...especially walnuts as they are a good source of LNA (omega-3)."
was not meant to suggest 'as good as flax' and it was not meant as a
replacement of flaxseed oil or ground flaxseeds.
I doubt that it was misunderstood by her or most list members.
You are correct about a proper balance of omega-3 and 6 being
    important.
But to voice concern that a few walnuts in the diet is pushing things
to far to the omega-6 side, in people who consume one to several
tblsp of FSO each day, is getting extreme in my opinion.
Mr. Tracy of the 'Tracy's Corner' list has even modified the Budwig
protocol to use Udo's oil instead of FSO to balance the omegas by
getting more omega-6. I happen not to agree with that, but it shows
that he has the opposite view of what you are expressing.
We are dealing here with the Budwig diet and as such we take guidance
from her writings. She does include small amounts of omega-6
containing nuts and oils in her diet as can be seen in her 'Oil-
    Protein Cookbook'.
In 'Letter from Dr. Budwig's Patient'
    http://datadepo.com/cancercure/budwig.htm
The recipe for Linomel Müsli includes fruit and nuts.
Dr.Budwigs has had remarkable success with her patients who follow
her instructions closely. Better than any other protocol, past or
present, that I know of. So, I doubt that she is wrong. On the
contrary she has been proven to be right over and over.
Even those that only follow her to the extend of taking fo/cc with
ground flaxseeds have made convincing headway.

    Hi Wilhelm
I wasn't trying to argue about any of that. When I read your post it reminded me
about how important balancing is - thats all. Walnuts are great, I eat them all
the time. I did not believe that you where suggesting a replacement, etc. I
think the list has been so arugumentative lately that everyone has their guard
    up.
My concern over the Omega's has more to do with the fact that almost NOBODY is
following the REAL Budwig Protocol, except for maybe you. Her diet is basically
lato-vegan and their is little chance a person would have any problem with
Omega-3 to Omega-6 balance. You also have the luxury of reading the all her
other books, because you speak/read German -most of us aren't able to do that
    either.
If Mr. Tracy is suggesting that anyone on the planet needs more Omega-6 - then
he is a fool and should not be allowed to say things like that. That is so
irresponsible that I can not express it properly.
This is the same thing as health food stores and other who suggest evening
primrose, borage or any of the other Omega-6 "rich" oils. The last thing that
any of us "westerners" need is more Omega-6. But I guess that's why my wife
wrote her book and thats why we have lists like these. In that way, we can all
    learn.

    To All,
I have never intended to stop using ground flaxseed, just that sometimes I
had some sunflower seed, etc.. and I was wondering about the walnut one as
it is a nut that I appreciate a lot.
I started reading Dr. Kousmine many, years ago and I practise only the
cottage cheese and flaxseed oil for a while then. Now that I am tryingto
get healthy again and to push any sickness away as much as possible, I
thought this would be nice. Plus I am trying to cut anything that contains
flower, like bread and all. The cottage cheese and flaxseed oil and ground
one are helping me. This way I don't go around the day hungry all the time
and it is better for me right now than anything else I have tried. I seem
to be able to study now. Before I got so tired after an hour or so, that I
could not follow any specific course.
    Thanks for your help.
