aspirin

2007-06-30 20:25:13

My chiropractor once told me that taking a little bit of aspirin a
day was like taking a little poison a day. I never needed to
investigate it for myself or family members, but I suspect there is
truth and evidence for that. In some situations it may be the best
thing to do, to take the aspirin- if a person isn't willing or able
to do something in the alternative. Joan

My mother today, because of so much intake of aspirin drugs, has been told that she now could bleed to death..from all the aspirins that have caused the damage to her stomach..This is a very scary thing..bleed to death, and not realize the on-side by body are swimming in blood. NO I will think from now on twice before putting an aspirin in my mouth. And I have to be truthful I've have had my share of them , as my mother ( bless her, thought they were so much needed) I got them for everything that came around, headaches, sore throat, tummy pains ( no wonder I had stomach aches, now I think back , and maybe part of my other problems along the way of growing into adulthood, that soon followed)

[FlaxSeedOil2] Food and diet are very imoportant

2007-06-30 01:35:51

Hello Group,
may I add my opinion to the diet discussion? Last year I have been studying
nutrition questions, motivated by what Dr. Budwig says. At the risk of
oversimplification I will try to keep the discussion of this complicated
matter
very short, and maybe expand later if there are any questions.
Sorry for being off-topic.
First, I don't like the term "diet" - normally it applies to sick persons
and means
symptomatic treatment of acute liver, gall or other problems. A sound
selection
of food cannnot be called a diet!
The term "food" is also misleading. Dr. Kollath ("Die Ordnung unserer
Nahrung")
distinguishes between "Lebensmittel" (live food) and "Nahrungsmittel" (dead
food).
Just some examples:
Live Food
a. Natural
- seeds, fruit, vegetables, eggs, milk, spring water
b. Mechanically processed
- oils, whole flour, salads, blood, milk products, tap water
c. Processed by fermentation
- yeast, fermented juices, sauerkraut, wine, beer
Dead Food
d. Heated
- bread, vegetables, meat, pasteurized milk, extracts
e. Preserved
- cakes, chocolate, jam, vegetable and animal preserves
f. Prepared
- industrial fats, sugars, proteins, white flours, white rice, noodles,
vitamins,
ferments, powdered milk
Dr Kollath called the substances in live food "Auxones" (vital substances).
In tests with rats with a diet free of auxones, but with correct
carbo/fat/protein
ratio and all vital substances known at that time he was able to obtain the
characteristic."civilization" diseases without shorter life. The
development
of the diseases takes a long time, about a rat-year (which corresponds
to about 30 human years). This time factor is one of the reasons why these
chronic diseases are not linked to nutrition.
Dr. Bernasek made similar tests, but with the objective of observing the
consequences for subsequent rat generations. In the third generation vital
organs, mainly the central nerve system, did not develop correctly, and the
fourth generation did not show any normal development at all.
These experiments show
1. That we do not know all essential vital substances
2. That cereals and other live foods contain unknown substances needed
for the function of certain organs (central nerve system)
3. That the degeneration due to missing substances recurs stronger
in later generations, and is irreversible.
This leads to some simple nutrition rules:
1. Go for live food, eaten raw - if possible organic, but in my view
insecticides are less dangerous than the consumption of dead food.
2. Eat wholemeal bread (Vollkornbrot), avoid white bread, cake, etc.
3. Avoid products containing industrial sugars, canned food
4. Avoid industrial (saturated) fats, use flax or olive oil and butter
5. Vary your food to obtain the whole range of Auxones
6. Avoid excessive quantities of juices
7. Don't be a fanatic - reasonable exceptions are ok.
You may question the juice aspect., but consider:
- we get all water-soluble vitamins when we press the juice. Fat-soluble
vitamins and other biologically active substances remain in the residue,
which leads to a vitamin imbalance - the synergy of vitamins is
disturbed,
the imbalance can even be dangerous ind the case of important quantities.
- munching a pound of carrots takes some time, minerals and other
substances are slowly absorbed. The corresponding amount of juice
can be gulped down in a second - a shock for the organism, leading
to overcompensation.
- the necessary vital fibers are missing
I am not a medical doctor, but an engineer - maybe the reason why
I approach these questions in a non-tradiitonal way.
Sincerely
Otto

Hi John,
Sorry if I misunderstood your post. My deepest apologies.
I wrote my answer not so much for you, because I remember the post you
mentioned. Rather it was an open type post to help keep people on track
because so many diverse theories are being introduced, some of which may be
confusing needy people and are often giving the wrong or misleading
information.
Again, thanks for clearing up my misconception and while I have your
attention, I had been wanting to ask you if you have investigated Dr. John
Christopher`s work on cayenne [pepper] for heart and general health. It`s a
wonderful read and I notice Dr. Budwig suggests it for her protocol. I use
it every day. In fact I not only add one to two teaspoons teaspoon to my
Flaxseed Oil/Cottage Cheese combination but I add the same amount to any
coffee I may take. Also, I often take that amount with plain warm water as
Dr. Christopher suggests one to three times daily. [I do add Maple syrup to
it when I can.] When Dr. Christopher died, 28 years after doctors told him
he wouldn`t live past 45, they found his arteries as clean as a teenager`s.
That from a man who had a death sentence served on him by doctors. Not
bad,eh? Thanks and best, Mike Cinelli
P.S. Some may ask, "Who is Dr. John Christopher?" He is America`s greatest
herbalist who put Herbalism back into the American Health scene. Ciao again,
and good luck, Mike Cinelli

Re: [FlaxSeedOil2] FSO vs Aspirin

2007-06-29 06:30:20

Beware of using Aspirin: My mother is 80 years old and was told one day for the same thing, that this would also help to prevent heart attack, keep the pain of arthritis away. I also grew up with a little girl that had to do Aspirin daily, or told she would die since she was just getting over some terrible child disease ( ? as to what kind ) The little girl never lived to very old, she died a young woman leaving a family behind. Upon biopsy come to find out the aspirin ate here stomach all up. Now today my mother come to find out she too has no stomach liner, and one recent doctor told her it most like came from the aspirin being to strong or the wrong brands, etc..some big talk, about this and that. But it boiled down to this. He could only say he was sorry she has now got to go through this ordeal and other complications on the side as well. But he still insist she take all the other 20 some drugs prescribed..and She is doing it even against family telling her NO, because
now she believes this new doctor knows what he is talking about since were in this time-period, and by her standards,Doctor's today are more advanced than back in the 40's and 50's, because they also have learned from mistakes of other doctor's, etc. I just don't argue with her anymore on what she should be using. She keeps saying she is ready to die, and no sense worrying about her stomach now. I offered to buy her some flaxseed oil, that might help line the stomach with a coating of oil to ease the burning she she gets, and she says. "Not at my age..I will not be able to swallow it and keep it down. Just the taste of it makes my feel nausea." Then she will look at me and say. " I think it is nice that you are trying to help other people while they are still young enough to listen. But when you get to be my age in 20 years you'll see things are not the same." Well she may be right, because 20 years ago from what I've learned then along the way..I am now older, and a little
wiser..but still to me Aspirin is not the cure all.

Miz Judy and Mr.Mel

I just visited with a doctor and was told to use a low
dosage of aspirin daily to prevent heart attack and
stroke. I was of the opinion that if one used Flaxseed
Oil and Cottage Cheese that would do the same thing. I
guess there is no harm in doing both but does anyone know
if it is necessary to do both?

Re: [FlaxSeedOil2] Purposes/(Misinformation?) Reply

Hi John,
What you are saying is not entirely accurate. There really is no question
about whether or not the Quark (cottage cheese) belongs in the Budwig
Formula. It certainly does belong there without fail. If you have read Dr.
Budwig, you will easily understand her reason for the Quark (cottage
cheese). It is there to make the Flaxseed Oil water soluble for easy
absoption into the system. Further, the combination removes the yellow-
greenish substance that Dr.. Budwig found in the blood of all cancer
patients. This yellow -green substance disappeared when she introduce the
omega 3 ( three )into the system. About this is there is no doubt. If anyone
has a better cure for this, let him/her step forward....Flaxseed oil by
itself doesn`t seem water soluble nor does it remove the yellowish-green
substance from the blood of cancer patients. (Show me where it says Flaxseed
Oil alone does, and I will retrack this statement with apologies.)
Now if you or any others cannot " take" milk products, while unfortunate,
there may be other products that can do the same job as the quark ( cottage
cheese) mixed with the Flaxseed Oil. Experiment on yourself and then report
it. If someone wants to use only Flaxseed Oil, fine and good. If someone
chooses to deviate from the Dr. Budwig protocol, which has saved countless
people given up by the "Allopathic Medical Community", fine and good. Just
let them do the experiments on themselves instead of trying to put the
"cart before the horse" and come out with edicts or "new" discoveries or
"new" concoctions. When any of these is proven to be as good as Dr. Budwig`s
protocol, then perhaps a few people may jump on the new "Band Wagon". In the
meantime, many on this list are tolerant to a point to hear much of the
misinformation flooding into this newsgroup by this substitution or that,
etc... or this or that, mostly non-related to the real solution.
.
The sick people here, do not want more polemics or intellectualization,
especially when it smacks of "scientific sources" that report this or that.
They want to follow Dr. Budwig because they are fed up with what the
Allopathic community offers or tries to force down people`s throats ,
literally and figuratively speaking..Then, too, if anyone sees the sky
falling down, we had better notify Chicken Little so she can carry out her
message in ample time.
This is not an attack on you, but a viewpoint which I harbor when I read a
lot of the things that go across my screen. Dr. Budig has done wonders for
our age; and, now it is up to each of us to accept what she says or do
experiments and report back to the group. Otherwise, there may be more
willing groups that will discuss this issues to everyone`s satisfaction.
I won`t even comment on her diet at this time, because anyone who really
wants to get cured from his/her disease(s) will definitely look at the
toxins and poisons going into the body and find ways to get rid of them.
Dr. Budwig points this out very well and only the uninstructed would go
against her Oil-Protein Diet. A change of livestyle is not easy to do, but
the alternative (no pun intended) is considered, then it may not so bad
after all to sawich lifestyles! Dr. Budwig shows us an excellent way and
blue print to better health. If you or anyone can do better, fine and great.
In the meantime, it`s again up to each of us to follow his/her mind. Good
luck, good reading and good health.
Thanks and best, Mike Cinelli

Flax Your Way to Better Health

Second:Report of Dr.Budwig

2007-06-28 08:31:22

I've just summarized, that is is, highly unsaturated fats, that a patient has no control at all the digesting. It is best threefold unsaturated fats are prepared from Flaxseed oil, together with the substance which easily dissolves them, and that is here in America the use of Cottage Cheese. And doctor Budwig mentions Quark, yogurt, and using the Oleolox ( Lux ) whatever some of you wish to define it as..
Many highly educated Individuals are dismayed and irritated by the fact that serious medical conditions can be cured by cottage cheese and flaxseed oil.

A woman, by this book, came to Doctor Budwig with two of her children ages 12 and 14, both with unhealthiness and bad behavior problems. Doctor Budwig begin to question the mother about the daily foods they were eating and in the way she was fixing meals. The mother denied that she was fixing the wrong kinds.but the discussion went around and around, and Doctor Budwig said her farewells and turned to go away. The daughter slipped through a side door and caught up with Doctor Budwig in the hall and whispered. " What's the name of the medicine I can take to make me a good girl? Can't you give me some?" So Doctor Budwig gave the girl a mixture of flaxseed and honey ( didn't say oil ), which was rich in highly unsaturated fats, ( so I take this might still mean OIL..not the seed itself.

In the book Doctor Budwig says this. " Never ask me about fats with fancy names. I'm very skeptical of imaginative names, and you are more assured of better value for money when you know what you are buying. Sunflower, flaxseed, sesame seed, or poppy seed oils. I want to know what I'm getting-and good fats save money."

Eating whole flaxseed is a waste of money because the body cannot extract its goodness. If you keep an eye on your digestive process, you will observe this clearly for yourself.
Most of the whole seeds cannot be digested and are simply passed through the body and then excreted. Naturally speaking, flax seed found in Linomel, is much more highly recommend. Food should be eaten with enjoyment.

When someone thinks he has discovered something new but then cannot as a scientist so express it that everybody understands, then he hasn't discovered anything at all. This is why I am so firmly convinced that those who really have something to say which concerns us all, can so express it that everybody understands.

What do I really do for patients, Simple, natural foods, that is all.
A Chinese principle is this. " The secret of all wisdom is science in harmony with the way of nature." And the other is this. " God was indeed the Creator when he said.' Let there be light." Thus Sunrays are a needed source of energy.

This sun-is power in mineral oil, coal, green plant foods, and in fruits. They are based on energy supplies by the sun radiation. sun is element of life, also affect the dynamics of the vital functions, that is apparently self-evident. Then there are people that say they can not tolerant the sun? ( Patients) begin to lie in the sun tell me, they begi9n to feel good.Rejunvenated. ( Page 53)Flax Oil as a true aid..

Now i jump over to the Oleolox ( lux ) to be used as a spread on bread, vegetables, buckwheat, rice, etc, or in soups. Now this book has several recipes, that I hope once I send Wilma's book back, and someone ask for one, either Wilma, or someone else can share them with us. But for this time I will give you this Oleolox recipe, in case someone missed it along the way.

250g Coc0nut fat
1 onion (medium size) cut in half
10 garlic cloves
125 cc Flaxseed oil * chilled 1/2 hour in the freezer ) I take he means the amount here being used.

Take the onion ( cut in half ) and brown slightly in the 250g coconut fat, heated ( 100* C)
Cook for approximately 15 minutes
Add the garlic cloves ( don't crush I believe he wants them whole) Cook 3 minutes only
Strain the fat through a sieve into 125 cc of flaxseed oil
( previously chilled 1/2 hour in the freezer)
Keep the mixture refrigerated and bring to the table in small portions as required.

As a rule ( flaxseed oil and Oleolox ( lux) should never be heated. ( the sensitive unsaturate fatty acids of flaxseed oil are somewhat protected by the sulfhydryl group of spices( eg.pepper) be care not to heat the Oleolox ( lux) more than 1 minute..

She concludes with this. " I advise people to adhere as close to nature as possible when choosing fats, fruits, vegetables, cereals. Knowledge of spices is one principle tool any homemaker, butcher, chef, should be familiar with and they are Salt/pepper, chives, parsley, herbs ( in the right portions, will enhance the flavor of food witho9ut adding ready-made-products from a can or store bought ready mix. ( such as a bouillon cubes, meat products, sauce/ gravy.

Learn what is in your kitchen to give food that personal touch, and your cooking methods should increase the family in great pleasure. Receiving superior food at home, you will soon tire of restaurants that overheat fats in foods, or over cook herbs, that should be added only during the last 1-3 minutes of cooking. Or herbs should be sprinkled over the top of foods sometimes just prior to serving.

Doctor Budwigs cook book is designed to give to those a new variety for everyday eating habits. And it puts Zing into Soups that have been nothing more than just watered down broth.

Learn to know that it is important to balance fats with protein. Drinking freshly pressed vegetables and fruits that are in the natural state, with NO added sugar, and avoid Doctor Budwig says SWEET Cider ( no sugar added to it please )

In her book is guidelines to follow in eating a well balanced diet. She begins with foods first for the very ill, and right through to those not so ill, to the most healthy and wanting to stay free of diseases. She believes highly on raw salads, and other foods,..here is a quick list of some foods she uses, I may skip[ over a few..but you can get those when you read the book.
milk, buttermilk, yogurt, dandelions, nettles ( greens ), water, juice, honey, fruit, cereals, all sorts of flavors, nuts, flaxseed oil mayonnaise, quark, bread, cheese( herbal cheese),spices, garlic, onions, etc( family ) seeds , related),chutneys, all vegetables, apple cider vinegar, buckwheat, rice, legumes, etc, coconut.sauerkraut, mushroom, Salt, ( aromatic salt),white wine juice for cooking, and in making jelly, and a recipe for ice-cream..made of quark/flax seed oil, nuts vanilla, cinnamon, etc and there are many sauce variations,POULTRY AND GAME; CAN BE USED ONLY WHEN BO OTHER FATS AGENTS ARE ADDED, BUT BEWARE CAN like EGGS FRIED CAUSE PROBLEMS, And strictly avoid canned fish, crab, and other from deli because they contain artificial coloring agents and harmful chemical preserves..by all means avoid eating these. And while traveling always care for yourself with LINOMEL AD HOT OR COLD MILK, AND/OR FRIT JUICES,

In closing: I guess Mel and I are eating pretty much this same way, except for adding the flaxseed oil to everything we cook.

I do hope that all of you have read this with an open mine, and that it encourages you to want to go out now and buy these books to continue to help you toward a better way of health, free of all diseases. Let us together spread the word, that there is help when we seek to find it, a door will open.

God Bless us all on this new road of recovery

Report from Dr.budwig

2007-06-27 18:41:30

[INLINE] First I want to thank Wilma for loaning me the two books to read. By Doctor Johanna Budwig, Flax Oil as a True Aid Against Arthritis, Heart Infarction, Cancer and Other Diseases, and ' The Oil Protein Diet'. Cookbook.
After making this report, I'll let Mel glance at the books tonight, before returning them back to you Wilma. I so much have enjoyed them, and today took notes while traveling to and fro.

I am going to make this report in two different E-mails so not to take up to much space and so not to bore anyone to hastily, and to give to you some time to think between each phase of my reports.

Now I will only briefly be touching down on what I believe to be the most important issues..because I feel that if you have the book, you can tag along here and read it with me. But for you that do not have this in your private Library..I urge you to get it to read, and not just take my word for what I'm about to say..or quote.

FAT: The first thing most of us think is OBESE, but we first have to break it down into a substance to understand the word fuller in comparison to white or yellow oil substance formed in animal,(human tissue), made up of chiefly of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. When I was in school studying geography of other countries..I always pictured the Eskimos as being that of all 'Blubber", do you remember the movie of BERTHA, the huge Eskimo woman that wanted this man to fall in love with her? To me that was FAT! And the time my grandfather took me to my first Circus, he made sure he took me to a side-tent to see nothing but " The FREAKS, and this one over-stiffed FAT Lady." now to a almost three year old this is mighty HUGE. She was compare to an ELEPHANT! " Judy, you must never get like this, or I'll have to put you into the Circus." I think that stuck in my mind all my life as I was growing up as FAT, meaning just overly-sized. Yet again I was being pulled by the other grandfather
as telling me ' Judy! we are going to have to fatten you up so those bones don't penetrate and pop put of you paper thin flesh." Now my war between these two grand-daddy was at war with me for life. Actually neither Grandpa, won completely out..but I did lean toward the bulge in some places after the age of 42, or prior to the female problems I was having, and that darn change of life situation after my 6th child was born. No looking back I wonder why I was going through so many illness, one after the other, and I think maybe, just maybe it had a lot to do with the way I was daily eating. And I think Johnna Budwig, hit some nails on the head for me.

I quote. FAT is oily, greasy substance no one knew what to do with-but suddenly everyone was ( still talking about it) Whether: groups handling carbohydrates, protein or other metabolic factors:

" La margarine sur La Sellette" ( the Paris press report) Margarine stands indicted, and the fat in the frying pan can be deadly. Or give me the steak, but throw out the fat-

But we grumble and growl that the fat cost to many [pennies, so why must I throw it out? ( my question is the same as in the book.." Why must I have to be made to wear it?" So would I rather throw it away, this harmful fat, or go ahead and show people I've dressed in it.

Then comes the next question: How can then fat cure tumors as well as form them? or How is it that fats both cause and present heart infarction? The answer is this by Johanna's book, Fat is that which consists of glycerine. Glycerine has 3 arms. A chain of fatty acids is attached to each arm..This chain of fatty acids has, with butter for example, 4, links to it; that of coconut butter and palm nut oil, 14 or 16 links. These naturally occurring saturated fats cannot be turned into energy by the body without the presence of essential fatty acids, but, at the moment it is those in a different group which play a large role, particularly when there is a basic lack of the essential highly unsaturated fats...what's going on we will get to it later..just keep following along with Miz Judy here..

Unsaturated fat what is it? First one must analyze fatty substance, and observe the chain-links ( 18 links), are they in place not to firmly attached to each other-the chain is it to fragile there to loose its absorbancy, and does it absorb water easily?--as if you were to fray a smooth silk thread in one place and then draw that thread through water--the frayed part absorbs water, or dye, more easily. In this same manner, these fatty acid chains with their weak, unsaturated connections, form protein association very easily.

Fatty acids become water soluble through this association with protein. For example olive oil, which has itself one 1 unsaturated connection. This fact is not harmful, but neither is it the most beneficial, which we in certain parts of the world; need when the diet is different. What is needed is highly unsaturated fats in the diet

The acid chain, the effects are multiplied and in the highly unsaturated fats the so called " Linoleic Acids", there is generated a field electrons, a veritable electrical charge which can be quickly conducted off into the body, and this causes a recharging of the living substance-especially of the brain and nerves. To stabilize these fats the unsaturated connections, which require oxygen so actively, are destroyed by industrial handling methods. But it is the highly unsaturated fatty acids which play a decisive role in the respiratory functioning of the body. Within these fatty acids, the enzymes in the breath cannot function and we asphyxiate, even when given extra oxygen; for example in a hospital the lack of this highly unsaturated fatty acids paralyzes many viral functions. It cuts off the air we breath. We can not survive without air or food, nor can we survive without these fatty acids. Thus doctor Johanna Budwig, goes on to say, " the Flax oil is a true aid against
Arthritis, heart infraction,Cancer and other diseases."

Hi All,

I don`t mean that 35% FoodGrade H202 is harmless if taken internally straight! It certainly can be and can be dangerous as such. But when diluted down to 3% (three percent) it is harmless if used for dental purposes, or in a glass of water or juice (never citrus juices, however.). Some doctors believe even using 3% food grade H2O2 can be dangerous. (Dr.Farr). However, he gives it to patient intervenously in a greatly diluted form at a slow rate, with excellent results. All of this is discussed on the www.oxygen therapy.com

site.

Thanks for your understanding about my slip up. All the best, Mike Cinelli

Hi NHY and all,

The best site for a complete discussion on H2O2 and other Oxygen therapies is found on www.oxytherapy.com/ It has valuable info on how to take H2O2, and also discusses Ozone and other oxygen therapies that work against cancer and other life threatening diseases.

One thing to note is that the H2O2 found in drugstores ( pharmacies) is not pure and contains dangerous additives and contaminants. DO NOT USE this internally. On the other hand, 35% Food Grade H2O2 is pure and is used in every fruit drink carton sold in supemarkets, etc., since the FDA approved that use back in 1982. It is even used in some long term milk to preserve the ingredients for a longer shelf life. Europeans have been using it much longer than that. While harmless, since it breaks down into water and hydrogen, the 35% Food Grade H2O2 should be diluted if taken internally. The www.Oxytherapy.com site explains it all.

Good luck, good research and good health, Mike Cinelli

H2O2 (OT)

2007-06-26 17:55:26

It is my understanding that "Food Grade" H2O2 has other health uses including in treating cancer by increasing oxygen to the cells.

However, as mike cellini suggests, I believe it MUST BE DILUTED before being taken internally. I also believe "Food Grade" is not the same purity as regular H2O2 you can buy everywhere and would not substitute such.

Just some precautionary warnings before some people go and do something based on a limited amount of knowledge.

LUNG CANCER
I am going to set up a document with accounts of lung cancer of which we
have known.
*************************
Hi
Saturday Aug 19 I had a call from Casper, WY, that was exciting.
The caller told me that in march, 2000 he was diagnosed with a serious
cancer in his right lung and told that he did not have more than 1 to 3
months to live.
He was given chemo and couldn't stand it. He was put on hospice with
morphine patches in case the pain got too great. He was 73 and had just
about decided to go to the hospital and die.
At this point a rancher friend who had gotten a tape on Flaxseed Oil at a
Bible conference heard about his situation and gave it to him.
He told me he listened to the tape and fell in love with what he heard and
imediately began to use 6 tablespoons of flaxseed oil and cottage cheese a
day.
He said it "kicked in" right away, though usually it does not work quite
that quickly.
He had an appointment with the Oncologist before long and the doctor took X
rays. The caller said he came out of the lab soon with a puzzled look on
his face and asked him what, if anything, he had been doing.
He told the doctor he had been using flaxseed oil.
The doctor said that the tumor he had in his right lung had not changed, but
the tumor in his left lung, about which he had not told him, had completely
disappeared without a trace.
He gave the doctor a tape and told me that the doctor and nurses were making
tapes and distributing them.
The caller said he was feeling good, continuing on the flaxseed oil and
getting along well and seemed quite excited; as I was to hear it.
We are praising The Lord for His provision.

About three years ago I was in my doctor's waiting room when a couple came
in. I spoke to them briefly.
That night the lady called and told me that her husband was a retired
college professor, 73, who had an 85% involvement with cancer in his left
lung.
The decision had been made to remove the lung at the Thompson Cancer center
in Knoxville, Tn.
When the attempt was made it was determined that the cancer had spread
further and they simply closed up and decided to use radiation and chemo.
The radiation had been done with no apparent results and he and his wife
decided that rather than go through the misery of chemo they would just live
as long as possible and forget it.
Thje Oncologist did not argue with that. She suggested that they come to
Rutledge and get flax oil and get started with four to eight tablespoons a
day with cottage cheese.
They decided on 6 and got two quarts and then got their own after that.
Three months later I was in again and asked if she had seen him again. She
had seen him the previous week. The cancer was still there but he was
holding his own.
I remembered him about a year and a half later and she said that he had
died, but that he did not die of cancer. He was not a very active person
and died of a blood clot that moved to his heart.
***********************
A lady about 73 lived two houses down from us. She was a frail person and a
smoker.
The doctors found a tumor about the size of a quarter on the lower part of
her right lung and immediately urged an operation to remove half of the
lung.
She was afraid she could not stand the operation and her grandson who knew
us well urged her to go on Flax Oil. I talked to her as well.
She did but did not use it as she should have. Nevertheless there was no
further growth of the tumor and I thought all was well.
About two years later I heard that she had died. Her grandson told me that
on later checkups there was no growth of the cancer but the doctor kept
urging an operation. The daughter that lived one door down did not want her
to do it but she had five other children and they persuaded her to go along
wit h the doctor's advice.
She did not make it off the operating table. The grandson did not feel
kindly toward his aunts and uncles but rationalized that it was his Mamaw's
time to go.
****************************
About 6 years ago a friend of ours had a cousin who was a veteran of WW II.
He had very serious lung cancer and it had spread to his upper arm.
He got started with Flax Oil and it was not many months before we heard he
was cancer free in a check up at the VA hospital. He called me and talked
about it and was a happy man.
About two years later I heard that he had passed away. Some folks have the
idea that flax oil is like an antibiotic. He got well so he saw no further
use for the oil. That is a mistake. One should have at least a maintenance
dose of oil each day to keep healthy.
He didn't and the cancer redeveloped. He decided that since it hadn't cured
him he wouldn't bother with it again.
***********************
The brother in law of Betsy, a member of a local church was 47 years old
and incapacitated with lung cancer. This was around 7 years ago as I
remember.
He had been given up and was doing no standard treatment. He began using 4
tablespoons of Flaxseed Oil a day with cottage cheese
and in time [I do not know exactly how long but it was not many months] the
only souvenier left was a little scar tissue and he was back at work. I
never knew his name but did not about him. Betsy is the best friend of a
good friend of ours.
I visited the church occaisionally as the main musician was a fellow teacher
and good friend. Kim was also the pastor's niece.
The pastor's wife had colon cancer and had part of the colon removed and
been put on heary chemo. Kim wanted her to switch to flax oil but a
daughter was a student nurse, and told her "Momma, do what the doctor tells
you".
In a while the lady had virtually no immune system left and the doctor
advised her to stay away from people lest she catch a cold and die and took
her off the chemo to see if her body could rebuild.
Now she began using Flax Oil. In a short time the white count was going up
and she was able to be out in public again. She had an appointment with the
doctor and told him what she was doing.
He told her that had not done her any good. It was the chemo that was
helping her. She was put back on chemo and in about three months she went
into a coma and died. The chemo had destroyed her heart and liver.
One Sunday night the pastor, John, asked me for a tape. I didn't know he
had not had one. A few weeks later I visited again and was talking with
John after the service. He told me that he hoped I was wrong but that he
believed I was right. He said, "They killed my wife".
Then I asked him if he had heard about Betsy's brother in law. He said, "I
hear he's pretty bad." I said, "He's well."
Betsy was still there and John asked her how her brother in law was doing.
She said, "He's well".
John looked at me, and with all the feeling he could put in it, he said,
"There's going to be doctors in HELL because of things like this!!"

Last June a friend of ours from beekeeping stopped by. She is a heavy
woman, probably over 250 lbs. She had been diagnosed with a rapidly growing
cancer in her lung.
The doctor was really after her to get it cut out as soon as possible. She
was resisting because she did not think she could stand the operation.
She began using 8 tablespoons of flax oil a day [which would be too much I
believe if it were kept up] and in a checkup 8 weeks later there had been
no further growth.
The doctor still urged her to get an operation. A subsequent X ray showed
no growth but was a little fuzzy as to any reduction. She had an MRI Oct.
19 and a consultation Oct 25 but I haven't heard any results. I have
temporarily lost her phone number and have been away.
Today- Jan 15 2002
I may know tomorrow. This lady has had a terrible time. On Nov. 13 her hip
"exploded". She has been in the hospital since then until about ten days
ago.
During that time she couldn't get the FO/CC. She is at he doctor's today
and I will know more very soon.
Her family doctor has been aware of Dr. Budwig's work and keeping abreast of
it as much as he can and is encouraging her to go this route.
She has already lived about the expected limit since being diagnosed with
small cell lung cancer.

After my article on Mad Cow disease I received over 300 responses. I
regret that time does not permit me to respond individually. After
reading a lot of research, I am convinced the problem is not nearly
as isolated as we are led to believe.
All over the country young steers, weighing 200-300 lbs. are sold to
feed lots. In a matter of a few months these slender, healthy
animals are transformed into fat, frequently diseased, animals,
weighing 600-800 lbs., ready for market.
Feeding cattle diets of starchy, high-calorie grain produces more
steak but gives the animals disorders that must be treated with
antibiotics and other drugs.
Cattle being readied for the slaughterhouse are typically put on
diets that are 90% grain and the remains of previously slaughtered
cows, pigs and sheep . . . bones, brains, spleen and whatever is not
profitable to sell. This makes them gain weight quickly and produce
meat with the tasty marbling of fat so beloved by steak eaters.
This is similar to the massive fraud in the herbal industry. Wild
crafted echinacea takes four years to mature. One can use high
powered fertilizer and pesticides to accelerate maturity in two
years. The plants look better and are almost twice the size. This
translates into far more revenue. The problem is that although the
plant looks great, it is almost worthless and may be dangerous due to
pesticide contamination. James X. Hartman, Ph.D., professor of
biology at Florida Atlantic University, examined the "off the shelf"
echinacea vs. wild crafted in his bio assay system. The commercial
product had only 10% of the activity. One can read his article at:
http://cat007.com/hart.htm
The problem, said James B. Russell, a Department of Agriculture
researcher at Cornell University, is that nature designed cattle to
feed on grass and other high fiber foods. An all grain diet makes
them sick, he said in a study appearing Friday in the journal Science.
``When you feed cattle 90 or 100 percent grain, it creates an
acidosis in the ruman (stomach) and the ruman wall becomes
ulcerated,'' said Russell. Bacteria, such as Fusobacterium
necrophorum, migrate through the ulcers and
end up in the liver where they cause abscesses.
``At least 13 percent of the animals in feedlots have liver
abscesses, some as big as your thumb, which means the livers have to
be discarded as unfit for human consumption,'' he said.
To limit this problem, feedlot operators give the animals antibiotics
to suppress F. necorphorum and other bacteria.
``If they didn't give antibiotics, about 75 percent of the animals'
livers would be abscessed,'' said Russell.
Forty percent of the antibiotics sold are used for cattle. For years
I have warned that chronic use of antibiotics is very dangerous.
Your system can develop an immunity which may render an antibiotic
useless should you be in a life threatening situation where only an
antibiotic can save your life.
High grain diets cause other problems, such as bloating and liver
failure, and Russell estimated that about three out of every 1,000
cattle in a feed lot die of grain-related disorders.
High levels of grain in the cattle diet, said Russell, cause a slow
and sluggish movement of food through the animal. This allows the
starchy grain to build up high levels of acid in the ruman and the
acid causes the ulcers.
The researcher said that about half of the bicarbonate of soda
produced in the U.S. is fed to cattle to partially neutralize the
acid from high grain diets. The industry also use lime placed in the
animal feed. Russell said that cattle are healthiest when they are
fed diets that include grass, hay or other high fiber matter. This
prompts the animal's gut to work properly, limits the production of
acid and allows the animals to gain weight without the need for
antibiotics against liver abscesses.
But grass and hay are low in nutrition, compared to grain, and it
takes months longer for cattle to reach market weight, said Russell.
In my previous letter I mentioned that Mad Cow disease had not been
found in the Orient. I was mistaken. A few cases have been verified
in Japan.
As most of you know, I provided the funding for The Generic Co-Op.
http://cat007.com/meow.htm
After learning so much about this problem I contacted one of their
major laboratories which provides the "CA" (Certificate of
Authenticity) on many of their products. I spoke to David Tan. He
assured me that all cattle products (gelatin, collagen and
chondroitin) were of Chinese origin. A sister company, in Taiwan,
produces millions of bottles of nutritional products for the Chinese
market. Mr. Tan said, "Chinese will not buy any animal product
supplements from Europe or the USA."
If you are using Internet Explorer, type in "mad cow disease" in the
address field. You will find hundreds of scientific articles which
clearly show this problem is far more widespread that we are told.
I read of one interesting study which examined the relative health of
kids in Oriental areas where a McDonalds was introduced. Within ten
years the children's health declined. From slender and healthy many
became much like Western kids . . . overweight and far more likely to
be chronically ill.
The undeniable fact is that commerce is revenue/profit driven. I
doubt we will see many nutritional manufacturers switching to the
more expensive Oriental cattle products for their gelatin,
chondroitin or collagen. My advice would be to switch to veg-caps
from your current gelatin capsules, even though it will cost more.
Alternatively, insist that any cattle derived products clearly
state, "of Oriental origin."
I still believe the risk is relatively small. However, why take a
risk if one cannot afford to lose?
The best idea is to substitute fish or poultry for beef and buy only
organically raised veggies.

Hi John, Miz Judy and all,

Food Grade H2O2 is a great source as a health remedy as you well know. My 82 year old friend has been using 7 drops a day for the last 11 years. ( He uses the Flaxsed oil/Cottage cheese combination faithfully since I introduced it to him two years ago). I have used H2O2 myself for 5 consecutive years , too, but now prefer the Flaxseed Oil/ Cottage Cheese route. Occasionally, I will use the FoodGrade H2O2 , reduced to a 3% solution, for my ears if I feel a cold coming on. I also put some in bath water when I feel like having a good relaxing bath. It is good for the skin and gets absorbed into the body that way. But I always= Repeat Always=put a few drops of Food Grade 35% into a liter of milk, organic or not. I then use the milk to make my Quark/Cottage cheese/Yoghurt for my Dr. Budwig combination.

The Foodgrade 35% H2O2 has got to be labeled or have a cover over it at all times, to avoid the accident like the one John describes. A friend`s 12 year old boy did the same thing, and his parents gave him plenty of water. He was O.K. after a night`s rest. It is not too be left unlabeled at any time. Just a few comments on my experience. Thanks and best, Mike Cinelli

Dear Mike,
Your last post woke me up just a little.
One of the points was that diet is just as important as the FO/CC. I do
not believe that for a minute.
I do not dispute that diet is important, but over the last ten years we have
seen person after person come out of major cancer with the use of FO/CC
alone without even being aware of special diet needs.
Perhaps we could say it was just luck, but there have been far too many and
very few that have not responded. I only know of about 3 that did not
respond.
There have been quite a number who did not recover who stayed on chemo along
with it, but even those did better with the FO/CC than they would have done
without it. If a person stays on chemo and dies, don't blame it on the
FO/CC for being ineffective. For the most part chemo is a dead end road.
DG's post was right on. I will put a little more evidence in later.
From what I have seen I have to conclude that the FO/CC is a much more
important factor in the remission of cancer than anything else in the
arsenal, though I will use anything that looks promising even as a test if I
run into more trouble in the future.
I am realizing that the forms of the cancer, the aggressiveness of the
cancer etc. are also important factors. I have at least a fairly aggressive
form of PCa, and perhaps by this time more than that. A lot of things can
happen with new mutations etc. in eleven years.
When this forum was started it was for the purpose of discussing the
benefits of Flaxseed Oil and we intended to stick to that topic. '"For the
most part we have.
When I posted the heart document that I copied partly from other information
I had recieved by around 1992 or 93 it did not talk about the use with
cottage cheese. The examples of my sister in law and friend did use it that
way.
Enzymes are important, but a great number of messages on Pineapple, Milk
Thistle etc. may be counter productive.
I often get messages and contacts from the website and folks contacting
through friends.
They are folks with cancer. They need help and need it now. There is no
time to go back in earlier years and change diets. If they come on this
list seeking immediate help and are swamped by many repititious messages
they may give up and leave.
A lot of the things that are written that tend to downplay the value of the
FO/CC may discourage some from using it and end their last hope.
To a person given a few months to live how it works is totally unimportant.
All that matters is results and results now.
You haven't seen this yet. I give you this challenge. If you come across
someone who has serious cancer and is open to Alternatives refer them to
www.beckwithfamily.com or http://home.usit.net/~spinner
and suggest they get with the FO/CC in quantity enough to count and watch
the results.
Do that several times and you will have a different concept of what this
list should be about.
In friendship
Cliff

Hello,

1. Quote: "As you know, the Dr. Budwig protocol has just as much to do with diet as it does FO/CC",...And the Budwig diet ... has a lot to do' in addition' with seed nutrition, electrons, solar radiation, exercise and being in tune with Nature, among other things. . She gives a good approach to all of this.

2. "Dr. Budwig said that not taking the cottage cheese could yield the opposite". I don`t recall this but I do recall that she stated that paraphrazing: <Once a cancer patient starts on the Flaxseed oil- quark combination and improvement is seen, then if they went back to eating the old way ( sugar, white flour, saturated fats etc0., then the disease can/will come back in a rage.

3. She further states:Quote:" It is best to use threefold unsaturated fats prepared from flaxseed oil, together with the substance which easily dissolves them, and that is cottage cheese. Various highly trained and educated individuals are dismayed and irritated by the fact that serious medical conditions can be cured by cottage cheese and flaxseed oil." Dr. Johanna Budwig, FlaxOil As A True Aid Against Arthritis, Heart Infarction, Cancer And Other Diseases.pages 10 &11.

4.In her "The Oil Protein Diet CookBook" she often suggests using Flaxseed Oil alone in salads ( sometimes with Quark, too) [for the healthy people]. The "unwell". have a very strict diet to follow if they want to have a chance of getting better..

It is my opinion that these books give valuable guidance to recovering, maintaining or even discovering good health. We all have been "poisoned" so much by poor processed foods and misinformation that it is refreshing to find someone who can show the way to better health through knowledge and a proven tract record. Many on this list are living examples.

It must be emphasized that Dr. Budwig is one of those advanced scientific thinkers much in the way that Dr. Otto Warburg, Dr. Royal Rife, Dr. Max Planck, Dr. Goryi Szent (spelling), and a host of others trained in Middle Europe, including Einstein, Tesla and even Dr. Linus Pauling. All of them were nominated or recieved Nobel Prizes, [ Tesla refused to be considered and Rife was cut out of the running...in my opinion] These people all developed theories and methods, and, followed them up with practical experiments and results. One thing is certain, they all were "light miles" ahead of their times and contemporary colleagues, and, were "fought tooth and nail" along the way...

. Some of the scientific studies today seem to only pick at pieces. In any case, I feel that all info is valuable and am happy to see Mike Martin bringing in some worthy comments and thought. Thanks and best, Mike Cinelli

2007-06-23 17:50:01

Hi John

Presently the recomendation for the right "balance" of Omega-6 to Omega-3 is 4 parts Omega 6 to

1 Part of Omega-3, this is referred to as the 4 : 1 ratio. 1 Tablespoon of Flax Oil contains 2240 mg of Omega 6 to 7700 mg of Omega 3 the ratio here is 1 : 3.4. Not surprisingly 1 tablespoon of Flax Seed contains 518mg of Omega 6 and 2175 mg of Omega 3 the ratio here is 4 : 1.

As far as listing foods etc. I think the more prudent thing would be to suggest the purchase of The Omega Diet by Artemis Simopoulos. It costs about 14 bucks and you can get it off our website.

In it, Dr. Simopoulos outlines all sorts of diets and meal suggestions, she also list the balance of each meal. The reason I suggest that is because it gets really complicated really fast. You can also use the KIM software to get ideas and create meal plans, and thats free.

It seems reasonable to assume, that, at least some of the nutritional elements in Flax, would be impaired by cooking and boiling it in water. This is part of what we hear, when we're advised to not use flax-oil for cooking. But more needs to be known here. Are the prized elements in flax, destroyed, in a suspension of boiling, or near boiling, water? Are there health values that remain in the tea after hi heat has been applied to the water?

What about the "lignans?" Do they retain their value to human health?

Re: [FlaxSeedOil2] HP

2007-06-23 07:56:17

I've forgotten the name of the researcher that made a case, that received a good deal of attention, for regularly drinking "food grade" diluted in glasses of water, etc. I tried it for a few days, but didn't feel comfortable doing it. But I must admit, not having had any problems in the week or so, that I was ingesting it.

I'll tell you a short, and scary experience we had with Food Grade. It remains liquid in the freezer (that's how you know it's still effective), and I had gotten in the habit of putting food-grade in a pint bottle, for convenience, rather than having to deal with the gallon bottle. A pint of food-grade would last me about 6 months. One day, a cleaning-lady that was helping us out, opened our refrigerator, on a very hot day, and, in search of something cold to drink, happened to, absent mindedly, open the freezer door, and see a pint bottle of what she thought was liquid water, and took a large gulp of it!!! She immediately complained of a burning throat, and we rushed her to the hospital, scared out of our wits. By the time we got her to the emergency desk, she said the burning wasn't that bad, and we ended up driving her back to the house, where she completed her work. Take whatever you will, from this event. I no longer put these food-grade bottles in conspicuous
places in the freezer.

By the way, it's been about 5 years since I bought that gallon of food grade; it's about 2/3 used, and still liquid as water, in the freezer.

Hey Cliff :

I to was being flippant. I actually thought you really wanted to see those studies or I wouldn't have posted em. As you very well know, no studies have ever been done using FO/CC so therefore none can be posted. I do think that posting positive information like from those studies is in no offensive to the Budwig Protocol. I assume that when you post something topic like heart disease that you where opening it up for discussion.

It seems that all matters of things are discussed here, from Thistel Milk to Pineapple, not just flax oil and cottage cheese. Perhaps its the manner in which I relate the information, it seems that anything

can be said within the realm of anectdotal evidence. So perhaps what I should say when making such types of comentary is this. A couple friends of mine named Nelson and Chamberlain, back in 1995, got twenty friends together and started taking flax oil in the hopes of lowering their cholesterol. Even though that each of the friends took as much as 6 tablespoons a day, their cholesterol didn't go down. They did notice that serum triglycerides went down a tad. They told Steve and Lillian from Toronto about it and they said they had tried that and noticed the same thing.

I think the important thing to notice is that possitive outcomes where experienced even without the cottage cheese. Dr. Budwig said that not taking the cottage cheese could yield the opposite. The operative word being "could" she left open the possiblity that positive benefits could be achieved from flax oil and a healthy diet. As you know, the Dr. Budwig protocol has just as much to do with diet as it does FO/CC.

Hi Mike,
I was a bit too flippant. Forgive me.
However, when Dr. Budwig was researching these things over the years she
said that it was well known that those with cancer had blood low in Omega 3
fatty acids. She knew that different doctors had attempted to rectify that
condition in patients but had not been consistently successful.
Building on the research of others and adding her own she discovered that
the use of Quark or cottage cheese used with the Flaxseed oil made it truly
effective.
The research you cite did not do that. It has not been done anywhere else
in the world except for those who are using it, individually or in clinics
or laboratories. These are increasing.
The clash comes in the fact that thje research such as you cite is not valid
as far as I am concerned. When research is done with those who have used
FO/CC then we will accept the results as valid.
About nine years ago a sister in law then 74 had a bad heart attack. She
lived two or three blocks from the hospital and crawled there. She
underwent bypass surgery and went back home and cared for herself. She
lived alone.
She started the use of Flax Oil and cottage cheese and got along very well.
She was going to the store, the mall etc. Then she quit the oil. In a
fairly short time she was getting weaker. She couldn't pick up a pencil.
She went back on the FO/CC and got along well. Cholsetorol was no problem.
She is close to 84 now. She may be 84. She is failing as is normal for a
person that age but the heart is no problem.
A good friend of mine here in our town had a heart attack some years ago and
had bypass surgery. He immediately went to FO/CC and the doctor said he
never had a patient do as well. He is fine today and uses the FO/CC every
day.
Of course, there is strong evidenc which I won't get into here that a lot of
cholesterol buildup is the result of the body trying to heal damage to
arteries and soft tissue due to a particular enzyme in the fat globules in
milk that does no damage in whole milk but when the globules are broken up
by homogenization the damage is there due to extensive release of that
enzyme.
On another least dealing primarily with PCa, different studies have been
cited to show that Flax Oil and Omega 3 is dangerous for those using it in
connection with PCa. Again, the tests cited are situations where there is
no use of Cottage Cheese.
Dr. Budwig said that if the Flax Oil is used without the Cottage cheese it
can have the "oppisite effect."
There are sites, including yours, where these studies are valid in that the
use of flax oil is being used the same way as in the studies being done;
without the use of cottage cheese.
This list is based on the use FO/CC and that is what is helping folks get
well. Any studies not based on FO/CC should be omitted.

FLAXSEED TEA

I THOUGHT Mel was kidding me one afternoon when he found this recipe in a book he had been all morning reading. It is by a doctor named Bernard Jensen. Guide to Better Bowel Care.. Now before you start to GAG, and write me saying this is not to be mentioned in a cookbook, I must differ somewhat with cooks. (If we for one, cook foods that bind us up, than surely Flaxseed would not hurt us to sit in a bathroom a few hours now would it?

TEA Recipe:

1 rounded Teaspoon full of fresh flaxseed. And into 1-quarter cup of fresh water for each cup of tea being prepared, bring the mixture to a boil, then turn off the heat and let it sit until cool. S

Store in the refrigerator.

This Flaxseed Tea.is slippery and mucilaginous, if desired, strain the TEA and discard the seeds.

(But my question still stands with this thought) Will boiling take away the value of the seeds? or by sitting to cool will this revive us, Ive been reading pro and con on this subject about the heat on flaxseed as well as using the oil, and it can become a little confusing. So if anyone has comments please write to me at Mrjau@...

Re: [FlaxSeedOil2] Heart Document - studies

Hi Cliff :

In Flaxseed in Human Nutrition, edited by S. C. Cunnane and L. U. Thompson, and published in 1995, two researchers reported their findings on the effect of dietary ALA on blood fats and lipoproteins in humans. The authors of the article, Gary Nelson and Jack Chamberlain, found that flax oil appears to have little effect on blood-fat levels as measured by total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and HDL cholesterol levels. At high dosages, flax oil seems to lead to a small reduction in serum triglycerides, another blood-fat level indicating heart disease risk.

British Journal of
Nutrition looked at the effects of flax oil supplements on the arteries of 15 obesity sufferers. The research concluded that after 4 weeks of a low fat-diet supplemented with 2 tablespoons of flax oil, the study subjects' arteries were more elastic and pliable. And that's not the only benefit from flax oil. Another Australian study, done at the University of Sydney, looked at the effect of flax oil on blood clotting. In this study, 29 young males consumed approximately 3 tablespoons of either flax or safflower oil for 23 days. The researchers found that the test subjects who consumed flax oil showed more than double the amount of EPA in the blood. The implication of the research is, flax oil may be an effective ally in the fight against cardiovascular disease because it helps cut down on the number of clots that may form.

Re: [FlaxSeedOil2] Heart Document

Hi Cliff :

I feel its important to note that the success of the diet on the Isle of Crete had more to do with the balance of Omega-3 to Omega-6 then it did the volume of Omega-3. Artemis Simopoulos states in her book "The Omega Diet" that the ratio for the Crete Diet was 4-1 Omega-6 to Omega-3. I don't think it can emphasized enough about the importance of attaining the proper balance.

Cunnane & Thompson have proven that Flaxoil does not help in reduction of total cholesterol. It has been proven beneficial in helping arteries become more elastic and pliable. Its also been proven beneficial in thining blood thus helping prevent blood clot formations. There have been animals studies on Arrhythmia which look hopeful as well. But to get the most bang for your buck you need to turn to the ground seed (primarily for the lignans).

Lignans seem to be the big helper when in comes to things like Cholesterol. I truely hope that those of you using Flax Oil will find a way to incorporate ground seed into your diets. The benefits of lignans are only now starting to be realized. It would seem that there is little to loose and much to gain by adding the ground seed. Flax Oil simply doesn't deliver enough lignans to achieve this benefit.

More and more attention needs to be given on getting the Omega's in balance. All the flax oil or ground seed in the world isn't going to help you if they aren't brought into balance.

Respectfully,
Mike Martin

Dr. Fair

2007-06-19 13:19:42

This is an article apearing in The New York Times on the 13.
To me it is significant, particularly the paragraph bounded by *********.
We will only use procedures tested scientifically and approved by the FDA.
Some of the effective procedures will never be tested. It makes me angry
that we will not look.
One post mentioned that we talk of results, but not scientific testing.
This great doctor urged that testing be done, but it wasn't and never will
be.
My contention is that results are the only thing that really matter; at
least to me.
An outstanding Dr. has passed on at 66.
Cliff
The New York Times
January 13, 2002
Dr. William Fair Dies at 66; an Expert on Prostate Cancer
By DENISE GRADY
Dr. William R. Fair, a leading cancer surgeon whose experience as a cancer
patient led him to become an advocate for the scientific study of
complementary medicine, died on Jan. 3 in Sarasota, Fla. He was 66.
The cause was complications from colon cancer, his family said. He lived in
Longboat Key, Fla., and Amagansett, N.Y.
An expert on prostate cancer and other urologic tumors, Dr. Fair was
chairman of urology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan
from 1984 until 1997. He continued to work there until 2000, and in 2001 he
and his son, William R. Fair III, 38, helped found a complementary medicine
center in Manhattan called Haelth.
In addition to operating on thousands of patients at Memorial Sloan-
Kettering, Dr. Fair was a prodigious researcher, developing new surgical
techniques, treatments and diagnostic tests for prostate cancer.
The chairman of the surgery department at Memorial Sloan-Kettering, Dr.
Murray F. Brennan, described Dr. Fair as "a remarkable physician and
surgeon," with international recognition.
In 1995, at what Dr. Fair described as the height of his career, he learned
that he had colon cancer. He had surgery and chemotherapy at Memorial
Sloan-Kettering and quickly resumed his work in the laboratory and
operating room. In 1997 the cancer recurred and he had more surgery, but it
came back yet again a few months later. "And there was little chance of a
cure," he wrote of his own condition.
"My choices were limited - another risky operation, extensive radiation and
experimental chemotherapy," Dr. Fair wrote in a brochure created when the
Haelth complementary medicine center opened. "Knowing these treatments
could be very toxic and debilitating, I set out on my own to investigate
approaches outside conventional medicine that I felt would preserve my
quality of life and perhaps slow the progression of the disease."
Dr. Fair began to practice yoga, exercise, prayer and meditation as well as
making changes in his diet and taking herbal treatments - approaches that
he had once dismissed as "touchy-feely nonsense." He noted that he began to
feel better, and for a time his tumors shrank. "Even if they can't cure,
they can certainly help heal," he wrote of the unconventional therapies he
tried.
Dr. Brennan, who had operated on Dr. Fair, said: "After his recurrence, I
think everyone was surprised at how long he lived. Certainly whatever he
was doing didn't do any harm."
*********
Mr. Fair said he thought that some of his father's medical colleagues
initially were critical of his pursuit of unconventional treatments. But,
Mr. Fair said, his father did not blindly embrace a raft of unproven
remedies. Rather, he took a scientist's approach, urging that various
approaches be tested and held to the same standards as mainstream medicine.
*******************
Mr. Fair also said his father was careful to point out that his interest was
in complementary medicine - treatments used in addition to the standard
therapy - as opposed to alternative medicine - treatments offered by some
practitioners in place of the standard.
Mr. Fair said he thought his father's care in making his point did influence
"the people who thought he may have gone off the deep end to say he's not
doing this foolishly or out of desperation, but logically."
Indeed, Dr. Fair looked into new scientific approaches to his disease as
well, cooperating with colleagues who used specimens of his tumor to try to
create a tailor-made vaccine to help him fight the cancer. The experimental
vaccine was produced and frozen, Mr. Fair said, but his father never did get
to use it. Mr. Fair said he was not sure why.
During the last few years, Mr. Fair said, his father communicated by e- mail
with thousands of cancer patients.
"He didn't practice medicine by e- mail," Mr. Fair said, "but he would
suggest questions they should ask. Sometimes he offered just his prayers and
good wishes."
Dr. Fair remained active until a few weeks before his death, his son said,
and in early December attended a meeting of a group he had belonged to, the
White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy.
William R. Fair grew up in Conshohocken, Pa. He was the first in his family
to graduate from college, receiving a bachelor's degree from the
Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, and a doctor of medicine
degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He did his internship
at Fort Bragg, in North Carolina, and his residency in urology at Stanford.
Dr. Fair is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, and his son, as well as his
brother, Charles, of Norristown, Pa., and his sister, Margaret Murtha of
Turnersville, N.J.

Application of Flax Oil to Heart problems
A few years ago a group of French researchers was attempting to find the
best diet for preventing Heart problems.
They turned to the people of Crete, who have the lowest rates of heart
disease and cancer in the world. What they found is baffling American
science. The Cretans eat more fat than any other people in the world Their
diet is almost half fat; 35% Olive Oil and 15% animal fat. Although Crete
and southern Italy are only a few hundred kilometers apart and both eat a
Mediterranean diet the Cretans have 90% fewer deaths from heart attacks than
their Italian neighbors. They eat as much animal fat as the citizens of
Finland who have the highest rate of heart problems in the world.
The French doctors took 605 volunteers who had had heart attacks and divided
them into two groups. One group went on the medically approved diet and
the other group went on the Cretan diet. These ate a significant amount of
meat, fish, wine, olive oil and a significant amount of Purslane and
English Walnuts, the only real difference in the two diets.
The results were astounding. Those on the medically recommended diet had 6
times as many deaths as those on be Cretan diet. The key to the successful
Cretan diet was the high amount of alpha-Linolenic acid as a result of
eating Perslane and English Walnuts. Flaxseed oil has 56% of this same
material.
Sudden death from heart attacks is due to rhythmic disturbance called
ventricular fibrillation. Omega 3 fatty acid has a strong antiarrythmic
effect. There were no sudden deaths in the Cretan diet group, and there
were eight sudden deaths in the medically approved group.
About two and a half years ago a good friend of mine had a bad heart attack
and a triple bypass was done. He immediately began using flax oil and has
gotten along fine. The doctor said he had done the best of anyone he had
ever treated. A former sister-in-law has had the same experience.
A few weeks back a man called us from Idaho to get information on the effect
of Flax oil on cancer. He knew what it would do for heart problems. He
told me that he was seventy-eight and a year ago he was in a doctors office
with a 95% heart blockage on one side and a 90% blockage on the other side.
He said the doctor wanted to do an angioplasty but he wouldnt allow it.
The doctor told him he might not make it home. He said he went home and
began using flax oil and today he is fine. His color is good, he does
anything he wants to and he has not been back to the doctors office since.
One of my wifes brothers has had a bad heart for several years. Hes
disabled and has real problems. He started to use Flax oil but the doctor
warned him against it because it contains fat.
Actually, there are fats that hurt and fats that help.
A short time ago I either saw on the internet or another publication that
the melting point of cholesterol is over 300 degrees. If one uses lecithin
the melting point becomes 190 degrees. If one uses lecithin and flaxseed
oil both, cholesterol will become liquid at less than body temperature.

Trying to put two documents a day on the list for new folks and, like the

Cliff
Short Ancedotes PCa
It is my intention to give a very short summary of the situations involving
PCa and the use of flaxseed oil that I remember, other than my own
situation. I do not know many details in many of these situations; only the
results. Nevertheless, one thing that is evident is that the use of the
flaxseed oil did not cause the PCa to grow faster than normal.
A. One man in our town had been diagnosed with PCa about the same time that
I was in early 1991 and the prognosis was not good. He began using flaxseed
oil and is using it today, Oct. 26, 1999 and is apparently cancer free, and
has been since late 1991.
B. He husband of a teacher friend of mine had a PSA of 37 in early 1991.
He began using
flaxseed oil and the PSA dropped to 13 something and then to 1.2 or so. He
asked me if I thought he would need to worry about that anymore. The last I
knew he was still doing well.
In the summer of 1992 I began to write a long letter to a friend and decided
to talk it into a tape as I hate writing long letters. It wasn't easier but
it was accomplished. I made a copy incase anyone else wanted to listen to
it. Things grew from there through seven revisions and widespread tape
distribution at our expense. We have not advised anyone; just told things
that have happened. There have been some feedback over the years. The
things that I am describing, not necessarily in chronilogical order, are a
result of the tapes being spread. I will add further that at that time I
thought that Flaxseed oil was the magic bullet, by now I realize that it
appears to be only a powerful weapon that is being ignored.
Had I known at the time that it was believed in some medical circles to be
dangerous I would not have felt as I did. Thank God I did not know. We
have not seen any of the results against which we have been warned. Quite
the contrary.
C. My brother had not had a physical in years and finally did. He had a PSA
of 785. Cancer had spread through the spinal colunn into his skull. It was
in the bladder and one kidney. He was a member of an HMO and they put him
on Stilbesterol. He had been unable to eat for six weeks and lost 50 pounds
and suddenly was able to eat again. He also began taking Flaxseed oil and
cottage cheese. In a few weeks he had gained 40 pounds, was working again
and had a PSA of 8. The Prostate had gone from the size of a baseball to
normal size. The bone involvement was improving.
About that time an herbalist "friend" told my brother to get flaxseeds and
boil them to get the oil as it would be much cheaper. What he did not know
was that the heat destroys Omega 3. He had quit the Stilbesterol as he did
not like the side effects. In essence he was now doing nothing. In time
the PSA began to rise. He began to eat Apricot seeds like they were going
out of style. He had heard about Laetrille. He did not realize that
Apricot seeds also have Cyanide and he did not quit until he developed
symptoms of Cyanide poisoning. He did not return to the right use of
Flaxseed Oil and died a few months later.
D. A few years ago a lady near Columbus, Ohio wanted a tape. Her husband
had been diagnosed with PCa. The doctor recommended an RP. He began the
use of the Flax Oil in October but was not at ease and in December went for
five second opinions. All recommended an RP. In February it was done. The
doctor said it was the hardest operation he had ever done. It took eight
pints of blood. As is normal, the removed tissue was taken to the lab for
analysis. A week went by with no word of the result so the folks called the
doctor and asked him if the Prostate had been malignant. He replied that he
couldn't say that it was, but it had potential. In other words, it was
over.
E. A numnber of years ago a young lady in our Lions Club told me her father
had PCa and wanted a tape. I gave it to her and forgot about it. About a
year later I remembered and asked her how her father was getting along.
"Oh, he's had a complete recovery and they are as happy as they can be."
F. Before we made any tapes I was talking with a man who told me that his
father had PCa.
And was unable to work any longer. We talked about the flaxseed oil and he
told his father and his father began to use it. It was not long before he
was doing the things he had always done. The last I heard he had made a
strong recovery.
G. About six years ago a good friend of mine was found to have PCa with a
PSA of 10. He was scared to death and had an RP. The count was 0.0 and he
was happy. A few months later it began to rise and again reached 10. He
began to use Flaxseed oil and cottage cheese at one tablespoon per day. The
count went to 13. We talked about it together and he went to three
tablespoons per day and the PSA began to drop. The last time I saw him a
few months back he told me he had just had a PSA and the count was 0.0. He
weighs about 220. In April 2000 he will be eighty.
H. About six years ago a man I knew slightly, then 75 years old, was found
to have a PSA of 73. He had learned of the use of Flaxseed oil and for
three months ate nothing but uncooked fruits and vegetables and flaxseed oil
and cottage cheese. In that three months his PSA dropped to 13; a 60 point
drop in 90 days. It would seem that it may be the combined effect of the
flaxseed oil and cottage cheese and the enzymes in the fresh fruits and
vegetables.
I. One of my friends has a PSA of 0.1. He has been using the Flaxseed Oil
for some time as a deterrent to further rise in the PSA. So far there had
been no rise.
J. About five years ago a former missionary in our area developed a very
advanced case of PCa. It had spread and he was given a short time to live.
His sister told him of the flaxseed oil and he began to use it correctly.
About six months later his sister told me that he was making remarkable
progress and the doctors were amazed. It was some time before I heard
anything again and then I heard he was going down hill again. I never knew
any PSA scores. It turned out he had switched from flaxseed oil to flax
flakes and was not using the protein with them. I am not certain whether he
ever did go back to doing it according to Dr. Budwig's protocol, but he
passed away a few months later. It seems it is important to use the
concentrated stuff with the proper sulfur based proteins.
K. In the very early days of our usage of this material I learned of a man
in our area who had a very advanced case of prostate cancer. I know of no
details except that he could do very little except lie on the couch and
hurt. I know of no treatment that he was taking at that time, nor do I know
what had been the situation earlier. His daughter with whom he lived
learned of the flaxseed oil and he began taking it at around two tablespoons
a day. There were no guidelines then. We were all guessing. Within a few
weeks he was out driving his truck and feeling much better. He was calling
his friends and telling them about flaxseed oil and how it had helped.
Sometime later I heard he was doing real well. A year or so later I heard
that he had passed away. His daughter told me that he had switched to
capsules. They are useless as far as I am concerned in the face of anything
serious.
L. After we had been making tapes for a couple of years I received a call
one day from a pastor of a church in Alabama. He told me that one of his
parishoners had PCa so advanced he couldn't walk. The family had been
called in as he was not expected to live. However, a friend of his had sent
him a tape and they got flaxseed oil and he began to use it. It was not
long before he was out riding around and on the road to recovery. I haven't
heard anything else.
M. A while ago my sister in law gave a tape to a Nazarene Missionary who was
afflicted with PCa and had had to come home. He began to use the flaxseed
oil and I understand from my sister in law that he is doing very well and is
back on the field continuing his ministry.
N. Recently a man came to get some flax oil for his brother. I am not I
business. I just share it at cost for anyone who wishes to stop rather
than order their own and I get it wholesale. His brother had been diagnosed
with cancer a PSA of 32. He had gotten flaxoil at that time as well and his
brother began using it. It was some time before the doctor decided what
treatment to recommend. By that time the PSA had been reduced to 0.2.
Nothing had been done but the flax oil. The doctor said that he had no
explaination but "just to be sure" the brother should have a seried of
radiation treatments. The only result was damage to the colon and bleeding
that he is having a hard time overcoming.
O. Recently a lady I know in California learned the husband of one of her
friends had just found he had PCa. The PSA was not real high but he was
scared, as those of us who have it can understand. My friend told them
about the flax oil. He felt that was silly, but went along with it. In a
fairly short time the PSA had been cut in half. The doctor said that
nothing could happen that fast and the effect of the flax oil was merely
masking the symptoms and nothing had changed. The man with the PCa quit the
flax oil and embarked on a regimen of radiation being assured by the doctor
that there would be no side effects.
P. Over four years ago I visited a doctor to talk hormone replacement
therapy, as I thought I might be too low on testosterone. He was a GP
specializing in nutritional therapies. He was much interested in my
situation and wanted a tape. Two days later he called and wanted a tape
sent to a patient of his who had ovarian cancer. The next time I heard from
him was a few weeks ago. He had heard that my PSA had risen somewhat and
asked how I was. It seems that he had had a PSA that was 0.2. The next
time it was checked it was 380, the prostate was greatly enlarged and there
was extensive bone involvement. He is in his early seventies. He had gone
on hormone blockade and flaxseed oil and cottage cheese. Now the PSA is 5,
the prostate gland is normal and the bone involvement is still there but
greatly improved. Subsequently he left the flax Oil and stayed with standard
treatment. He died Dec. 4, 2000.
Q. Five years ago a friend asked us to send a tape to Chester Sexton, a
barber in Onieda, TN. He had
Advanced PCa. He was around 70. He wanted to keep barbering as long as
possible. I do not know what treatment he had had up to that time. I asked
the friend about six months later and asked them how Chester was getting
along and she said that he was doing very well.
Two years ago last Christmas Chester called and said that he had gotten the
tape and felt he had to get some of that. He started using six tablespoons
per day. He said that he got over his cancer. His best friend likewise got
over PCa and his girl friend got over diabetes. Then some of his customers
wanted tapes so he made them. Some wanted tapes for friends. He said that
some listened and used the oil. He said that some didn't use it. He said
"They died".
Very recently a lady from Onieda got in touch with us. Her husband had just
found out he had PCa. Chester is selling oil from a freezer in his barber
shop at cost as a service.
This lady had worked for Chester and his wife in a store as a teenager. She
is getting oil from Chester and filled me in on his present condition.
Chester is now 75 and has a PSA of 1.5. He is still enjoying his barbering.

Shcok to Cure?

2007-06-18 18:53:21

[INLINE] Don't cry..Sometimes a shock helps to cure people. This was a sentence that came in on another list I'm using; and then this morning over on another list in a similar way. Another good topic we could discuss, but send it to Natural Well Being please.

Maybe a SHOCKing that tells us we are really ill, gives to us the motovation to now do something about our health, that should have been taken of in the first place. But if you are like me, I sometimes know I've put off seeking help at the beginning, expecting the ill to take care of itself. Sometimes it does and sometimes it just gets "worser" & "Worsier" (Shilah's words since she was around age three)

Hi

I'm not sure I understand the reason for your apologetic remarks?

I appear to have created a misconception concerning the severity of my angina. It does not interfere with all but the most strenuous activity, and only becomes a problem when I engage in sustained aerobic movement (i.e. fast walking, etc.). Otherwise I function reasonably well. The problem is that, without brisk exercise (which brings on angina) it's close to impossible to improve arterial and cardiovascular health, or, just as important, lose weight.

Donna,
look at Ferlow Brothers Ltd. web site for information on which
chemicals to avoid in skin care products.
http://www.ferlowbrothers.com
click on 'Informative Articles'
then on 'Ingredients'

Hi Greg,

I wish I could find a way to print out your chart. There probably IS a way, I am just a computer dummy.

I dont see any listing for avocados. I LOVE avocados and am wondering if they will interfere with my fso/cc dosage.

Thanks.

Kathryn

<< Ron W.. that is a tremendous good story about what all you've gone through
with your heart. Remarkable how when one makes up their minds to either die
or live, one or the other wins out. In your case for the best so you can
talk about this situation to help someone else face their problems better
too. This story should give many people hope now. Thanks
